Supreme Leader: Confronting soft war requires training revolutionary, determined youths
Addressing members of the Union of Students' Islamic Associations, Ayatollah Khamenei said the youths constitute the main bodies in the Islamic Republic of Iran in charge of confronting the camp of arrogance.
'The anti-Iran camp attempts to change the religious and revolutionary identity of Iranian youths and deprive them of any hope, jubilance and motivation. The only way to confront such a covert and complicated approach is training the religiously committed, revolutionary, determined, vigilant, highly motivated, optimistic, wise, brave and devoted youths who will serve as officers of the soft war,' Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Referring to the Zionist regime's defeat by Lebanese Hizbollah in 33-day war compared to failure of powerful armies of three Arab countries in the face of that regime, Ayatollah Khamenei said Hizbollah and its faithful youths shine like the sun and are sources of honor for the world of Islam.
Highlighting the arenas of confrontation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the camp of arrogance, led by the US and Zionism, Ayatollah Khamenei said independence of the country, including political, economic and cultural independence, should be taken as one of the arenas of confrontation with the camp of arrogance because super powers will face any country wishing to resist domination and influence of foreigners and to defend its independence.
The Supreme Leader said progress is one more point over which the camp of arrogance is at odds with the Islamic establishment of Iran. 'The global powers will stand up to any country willing to make progress without reliance on them because such progress will be a model for other countries and nations.'
The Supreme Leader said one of the main reasons the global powers oppose Iran's potential is its mastering of the nuclear science. 'Should we back down from our stance in the face the (big) powers, they will defintely start raising their opposition to our progress in the fields of bio-technology, nano technology and other sensitive scientific branches because they are against any scientific, economic and civilizational progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran.'
The Supreme Leader said Iran's powerful presence in west Asia and the world, the issue of Palestine, the issue of resistance and the issue of Iranian-Islamic lifestyle are among other areas over which the camp of arrogance is at odds with the Islamic establishment.
Ayatollah Khamenei said should western style of life prevail in a country, its elites will turn into individuals yielding to policies of the arrogance.
'As far as the youths are concerend, a kind of under-the-skin and comprehensive soft war between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the US, Zionists and their allies is underway.'
The Supreme Leader said young pupils and college students are officers of the war. 'In the soft war there are two officers with two different identities and the result of such a war will be different in proportion to the identity of the officers.'
The Paramount Leader said, 'Soft war is times more dangerous that the hard war. Sometimes we are threatened by hard war and bombardment; these are hollow threats because they are devoid of any ground and cannot dare doing so. Even if they do such a thing, they will face a crushing response.'
Ayatollah Khamenei warned that soft war on the Islamic establishment is underway and 'We should launch offense in addition to defense. Having religiously committed, revolutionary, resolved, hard working, intellectual, courageous and devoted officers in headquarters, one can guess the results in the battle. However, if in the soft war there are officers in the headquarters who are submissive, demotivated, negligiant of their fate, the result of the battle will be completely clear. So there are two officers with two different identities in the soft war: An officer who is favored by the Islamic Republic and the other officer who is welcomed by the camp of arrogance and presence of each of the two officers can decide the fate of the battle.'
Ayatollah Khamenei warned that westerners, especially Americans, want Iranian youths to be the individuals lacking in any faith and devoid of motivate, hope, optimism and being pessimist about their own commanders and comrades. The Islamic establishment, however wants to train those youths who are opposed to the camp of arrogance.
Ayatollah Khamenei said, 'As we have long-term plans for scientific, religious and revolutionary moves of the country's youths, the enemy too has long-term plans and the only way to confront them is training of the revolutionary, religiously committed, resistant and resolute youths from both qualitative and quantitative points of view.'
The Supreme Leader instructed officials concerend to embark on training revolutionary generation by including revolutionary works in their curriculum.
Elsewhere in his address, Ayatollah Khamenei said after 37 years the camp of arrogance has not been able to remove the Islamic Republic of Iran or prevent its progress or power in the region.
The Supreme Leader said despite practical threats and abundant propaganda, Lebanese Hizbollah today bravely boasts of its existence in the world of Islam and its condemnation in paper by a corrupt governemnt is not important.
