Iran, South Korea confer on environmental co-op

The meeting held on Tuesday was attended by Iran's Head of the Department of Environment Massoumeh Ebtekar and South Korean Ambassador to Tehran Kim Seung-ho.

The two also discussed cultural and economic issues.

Ebtekar referred to upcoming visit of South Korean President Park Geun-hye to Iran, describing it as a new opportunity for bilateral ties.

She further called for bilateral efforts to reduce greenhouse gasses and fight agaisnt climate changes.

She said the presence of South Korean minister of environment as a special guest in the 16th international environment exhibition in Iran can help strengthen mutual ties in that area.

For his part, the South Korean diplomat said Seoul and Tehran can develop relations in various issues, particularly in culture.
